Are There Better Sex Positions To Help With Conception?

Many couples will sip secret herbs or tediously track their ovulation in order to conceive. But could it be that all it takes is the right angle? During sexual intercourse, it’s possible that the right position will give you better odds of conceiving. So which sex positions will be the most beneficial for couples trying to conceive? Give the following a try:

Before Sex

Consider spooning before intercourse. A little foreplay before the actual act could increase more than just pleasure. Increased arousal in the male could result in increased sperm count.

Missionary Position

This particular position is said to be best for conception because it achieves a deeper penetration than other positions allowing the sperm to be deposited closer to the woman’s cervix.

From the Rear

Having your partner enter from behind while either lying on your side, kneeling, or lying on your abdomen could give you a better chance of conceiving according to the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy as this allows the penis to reach the back of the cervix.

Deep Penetration

Any pose that allows for deeper penetration can offer greater chances as it gives the sperm a better chance of reaching the cervix.

Legs Raised

Having the woman lie on her back with her knees pulled towards her chest could result in better chances of conception as this allows the sperm to stay closer to the cervix.

Hips Raised

An elevated position, which can be achieved with a pillow under the woman’s hips, allows the male’s semen to better reach the woman’s cervix.

After Sex

After the deed is done, it can be helpful for the woman to lie still on her back. This assists in keeping the sperm closer to the cervix.

Sometimes, the right position is all it takes to conceive. However, none of these positions are surefire ways. If you’re still having trouble conceiving, there could be a deeper issue that needs addressing. Consult with your doctor for further advice.
